South Korea Immigrant Investment

South Korea's investment immigration program allows investors to obtain theF-2 long-term residency statusby either making a deposit of 1.5 billion KRW (1.1 million USD) or 3 billion KRW (2.2 million USD) in the government account or purchasing real estate worth at least 1 billion KRW (730,000 USD) in designated areas. This program covers the investor's entire family, offering them F-2 residency status, with the possibility of upgrading topermanent residency (F-5)after five years.

After getting F5 status. The initial deposit can be fully withdrawn, or the property can be freely disposed of without affecting the residency status.

Application Requirements

  • The principal applicant must be at least 19 years old and meet funds requirement, making a deposit of 1.5 billion KRW (1.1 million USD) or 3 billion KRW (2.2 million USD)  in the government account or purchasing real estate worth at least 1 billion KRW (730,000 USD) in designated areas.

  • No Criminal Record

Requirements to Convert F-2 Visa to F-5 (Permanent Residency):

  • Hold F-2 status for at least 5 years

  • Visit Korea at least once per year during the F-2 period

  • No criminal record (in Korea or home country)

  • No language requirements

Requirements to Maintain F-5 Visa Status:

  • Only need to enter Korea at least once every 2 years (no minimum stay required).

To qualify for Korean citizenship (general naturalization), applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Residency Requirement: Legally reside in Korea for at least 5 years (cumulative, starting from F-2 visa period)

  • Language Proficiency:Pass a basic Korean language test (administered by immigration authorities)

  • Clean Record: No criminal or immigration violations in Korea

Program Benefits

●Applicant can withdraw the full amount or sell the property after five years, achieving low-cost immigration.

●Applicant can withdraw the funds or sell the property at any time within five years, but this will cause the residency status to lapse. After five years, applicant can convert F-2 visa to permanent residency (F-5) and fully withdraw the funds without affecting your status.
