Malaysia Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T)

With an investment of just around USD 10,000, applicants can obtain a long-term residence status valid for up to 10 years, with the option to transition to permanent residence. The permit allows free employment and business activities, does not require employer sponsorship, and has no minimum residence requirement. It is Malaysia’s flagship residency program designed to attract high-level professional talent.

Application Requirements

  • Age Requirement: The main applicant must be 18 years old or above;

  • Criminal Record: Must provide a police clearance certificate;

  • Work Pass: Must hold a valid Employment Pass with at least three months of remaining validity;

  • Education: Must hold a PhD, Master’s, Bachelor’s degree, or diploma, or a professional/skills qualification issued by a recognized professional body;

  • Employment Requirements:

    • At least 5 years of total work experience;

    • At least 3 consecutive years of employment in Malaysia;

    • A basic monthly salary exceeding MYR 15,000 (excluding allowances or bonuses);

    • Must hold a Malaysian personal tax number and have paid personal income tax in Malaysia for at least 2 years
