New Zealand Active Investor Plus Visa
Starting from 1 April 2025, new rules apply to the New Zealand Active Investor Plus Visa. The updated policy removes the English language requirement and simplifies the investment framework, which is now divided into two categories: the Growth Category and the Balanced Category.
Growth Category: Applicants must invest a minimum of NZD 5 million. The investment must be maintained for at least three years. Acceptable investments include direct investments and managed funds. During this three-year period, the principal applicant is required to spend a minimum of 21 days in New Zealand.
Balanced Category: Applicants must invest a minimum of NZD 10 million, with the investment maintained for at least five years. Acceptable investments include government and corporate bonds, listed equities, philanthropic investments, property development (new residential developments or new/existing commercial or industrial projects), direct investments, and managed funds. During this five-year period, the principal applicant is required to spend at least 105 days in New Zealand.

Application Requirements
Investment Options

Apply for residency

Invest NZ$5 million or NZD$10 million in acceptable investments approved by Immigration New Zealand and provide documentation for the source of funding.

Anyone aged 17 or older included in your application must provide a police certificate from:

all the countries the applicant is a citizen of, and
-
any other country the applicant has stayed in for 12 months or more over the last 10 years, even if it was not all in the same stay.
