Applicants for Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) Significant Investor Stream are only required to invest at least AUD 5 million in Australian investments that meet certain requirements to get a 5-year visa. Holders of this visa can apply for Australian permanent residence through Business Innovation and Investment (Permanent) Visa (subclass 888) Significant Investor Stream.

The program targets high-net-worth individuals. Apart from the investment requirement, other requirements are all easy to meet. There are no requirements of business start-up or work experience. What’s more, successful applicants only need to fulfill the easily-met residency requirement to obtain Australian permanent residence in the future.

Application Requirements

To obtain a 188C temporary visa, you need to fulfill following requirements:

1. The net assets under the couple's name and that of the family should be no less than AUD 5 million.

2. Investing AUD 5 million in designated Australian investments (private equity fund/ equity fund/ corporate credit fund), and the capital should be transferred from the reported family net assets.

3. ​Accompanying children shall be aged under 20 (children aged over 18 shall be unmarried and provide proof of full-time attendance).
