Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) has predicted that the healthcare travel industry in Malaysia will reach MYR 2,800,000,000 (=USD 689,416,000) in 2020.

The income of healthcare travel in Malaysia last year was MYR 1,300,000,000, with the number of over millions of healthy travelers. Our goal is to become the Asian destination for health treatment, such as birth-giving and heart disease cures. Up till now, our medical success rate is as high as other countries, and we also have a big advantage and success on pre-screening on diseases. We are confident on our technology and ability on health treatment.
The analysist is optimistic about the future economic development of the local industry. The cross-border medical tourism industry in Malaysia will get faster and better with the fully support of the government. Malaysia is a good choice for applicant who want to join investment immigration program.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, believes that the nation's healthcare providers can help turn medical tourism into a major income driver for the country's economy.
