Thailand Elite Visa Fees to be Raised by the End of October 2019
  • Posted 03 Oct, 2019

Thailand immigration department announced to raise Thailand Elite Visa fees by the end of October 2019, according to Globevisa, a government-designated agent for Thailand Elite Visa application. All applicants for this VIP visa will be confronted with an increase of THB 100,000 in visa fee, no matter which validity option they choose.

Thailand Elite Visa is basically a kind of VIP visa that grants its holders multiple visa privileges, rather than one that officially leads to Thailand resident status. However, with a Thailand Elite Visa labelled on passport, the owner can enter Thailand for multiple times and enjoy long-term stay in Thailand. The maximum duration of stay allowed ranges from 5 years to 20 years, depending on the validity options chosen. Therefore, people often compare this nonimmigrant visa to visas issued under Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H).

Even for those who hold a passport allowing visa-free entry to Thailand, for example, Hong Kong people, Thailand Elite Visa can be regarded as a resident permit. Afterall, Hong Kong passport holders can only stay in Thailand for 30 days upon each entry.

To apply for a Thailand Elite Visa, applicants only need to make an investment from THB 500,00 to THB 2,000,000. Nothing more is required, not even a Certificate of No Criminal Conviction. After obtaining this VIP visa, holders will have many visa privileges, including entering and leaving Thailand through fast-track channel, enjoying pick-up services to and from airports, and participating in world-class luxury clubs.

As Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H)’s vetting process becomes more stringent, the eyes of many Hong Kong people have already turned to Thailand Elite Visa program.
